Mainly what universites are looking at is the ability to prove you have been able to work at the level of A-level in some good hard academic courses, certain A-levels are looked down on on if they are not felt to challenge people sufficiently this varies depending on the university. They are apart from that not particulalry bothered about what the courses are as long as you have met specific essential criteria, such as proof of Mathematic ability for this course.

This particular univeristy is helpful in that it makes no secret of the courses it looks down on, presumably you will have found the list in your searches, but for fullness of answer I will list it here: Accounting

So try to avoid picking more than 1 of these courses, except for those marked ** (added helpfully by me) whichshould be avoided completely. Music technology is different to music, the * is that some departments will accept dance/theatre studies as generally prefered, however I doubt business is one of those.

The sciences are always a good bet, for this course obviously Maths, Further Maths, Economics would all go down well. Something like English, History or a foreign language are always going to be good bets as they are seen as generally academically challenging.

Shall we advice that people take courses the universities look down apon. Sorry if you take a selection of these courses, but thats the way life is. I myself took Business Studies, which is one from the list, but avoiding taking too many is the only way to get accepted. History/Maths/Physics yes, Business/Dance/Music Tech no.
